Professor Eva Miranda, awarded the Agnes Szantó Medal

Professor Eva Miranda, member of the IMTech and full professor at Department of Mathematics at UPC, has been awarded the Agnes Szantó Medal 2026 by the Foundation of Computational Mathematics (FoCM).

This prestigious distinction recognises outstanding contributions to computational mathematics, as well as a sustained record of international scientific leadership.

The award ceremony will take place during the FoCM 2026 conference in Vienna, with the presentation scheduled for 13 July 2026. As part of the recognition, Professor Miranda will deliver the Agnes Szantó Inaugural Lecture on 14 July. Titled Found in Translation, the lecture will explore the transfer of ideas and the creation of bridges between disciplines in contemporary mathematical research.

IMTech congratulates Professor Eva Miranda on this award, which recognises the intersection between mathematics and computation, closely aligned with one of the institute’s strategic research priorities.
